Awana is offered as an optional program for your students to participate in Bible memorization. The goal is to reach kids for the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Christ. Awana is a station that is opened in between our 2 services and our leaders will be ready to listen to any sections between
Saftey is a high priority for us. We want our children to be safe while they stay with us. Our security team is vigilant to keep our children's wing safe and every teacher receives a background check. Each child is required to check-in with a parent and receives a sticker with their name and allergies listed. The parents will also receive a sticker with a matching number that will allow the parent to pick up the child. We ask that only parents or adults pick up children. We will not release children to older siblings (unless they are over 18).
Which class is my child in?
We have 2 classrooms - one for our 1st-3rd grade students and another for our 4th and 5th graders. Our children meet in small groups within their classroom. These groups are organized by the child's grade and gender. The goal is to help kids build relationships with other kids that are their age as well as with their leader as they pray, do activities that relate to our Bible lesson, talk about lesson applications, and play table games together.
The safety of our friends with allergies is important to us. We have every child and leader stop at a "hand-washing" station and use a baby wipe to clean their hands before entering our classrooms in order to cut down on allergens. Snack is only provided during the 11:00 am small group called "Second Blessing" and "Flight 66". These classes meet in a separate room and hands are rewashed before re-entering our teaching classrooms. The snack provided is gluten free Vanilla Rice chex or goldfish. With special events as the exception, snack is NOT provided in any other group.
What will my child do in class?
Teaching Class - 9:30 am and 11:00 am
*All children start in a small group based on grade and gender where they:
-Do a "Link It" activity - an activity that "links" to our Bible teaching time
*Then students participate in a Worship time and Bible Teaching
*Students end their time in small groups with lesson application discussion and table games.
10:25am - 11:10am
*AWANA is offered as an optional program for those who desire to memorize God's Word. It meets in between our teaching classrooms and is open in between our two services. Our leaders are there ready to listen to any sections your kids have memorized. Every child has the opportunity to complete a grade appropriate Start Zone. If they decide they would like to continue in the AWANA program, the book for the year costs $15. Another option for memorizing God's Word is to memorize the unit verse that corresponds to our lessons - see below by our curriculum description. Your child may say the unit verse to their small group leader.
Second Blessing &
Flight 66 - 11:00 am ONLY
*For students who have attended the Teaching class at 9:30 am they have the option of attending Second Blessing or Flight 66 during the 11:00 service.
*Second Blessing is a small group for 1st-3rd graders and Flight 66 is for 4th and 5th graders. These groups are designed to build relationships through games, snacks, outdoor play (weather permitting), and discussions.
