Understanding what it means to make Jesus your Savior

God loves us and wants to spend eternity with us.
“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:2-3

We messed up – our sin keeps us separated

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

We deserve punishment

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Being a good person isn’t enough.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

God sent Jesus to die and pay our debt

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Jesus came down because of His love.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

When Jesus died and rose again, He took our punishment since He knew we couldn’t!

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”  2 Corinthians 5:21

God loves us and wants to spend eternity with us.

We must accept His gift of eternal life

“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23

Jesus wants to come into your heart!

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.” Revelation 3:20a

Pray to God and admit Jesus is the Son of God and believe in Him.

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
