Romania Day 7
It sounded like Heaven...
Walking around camp today was a glimpse of eternity’s soundtrack.
The Romanian language is an interesting one. It is influenced by multiple other languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, etc. We try to listen closely to see if we can make out a word or two but it isn’t easy. They express themselves with much passion when excited, sad, or telling a story. But as we listened today, we began to hear something familiar. A tune. On the volleyball court, at meal times, during breaks between class and in the middle of discussions, all of our team reported hearing it.
It wasn’t all in English, but God’s comprehension certainly extends to all languages. It needed no translation. It was worship. Spilling out and overflowing on the sand, the workbooks, picnic tables, and on all who could hear. It became contagious and spontaneous. Groups would be singing worship songs simultaneously in English and Romanian. Sometimes a mish-mash of both.
But whatever it sounded like musically or linguistically, it sounded like Heaven.
“...a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb...and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,”
-Testimonies were incredible tonight. They’ve been real and raw and it’s laid the foundation for the campers to be open.
-Those who were a bit under the weather are feeling better today.
Pray for us:
-That we would be focused on the present mission tomorrow and not be distracted by the trip ahead.
-That we would seize any and all divine appointments tomorrow and be courageous to “step in” to relationships.
-That our hearts would be encouraged and at peace as we’ll say goodbye to our new friends at the end of the day.
