Founders
Patrice Smith
Patrice loved watching her friends perform in college but never thought she'd pursue theater until, in her late 20's, she was talked into playing a role in a church drama and loved it. Patrice started Bibleodeon in the early 1990s, a children's ministry that brought the Bible to life through puppetry, drama and music. Patrice enjoys writing for the stage. She has written and directed numerous plays for home school performers and church productions.
Mark Smith
Mark began acting with his family as a boy while his father was in the Army, stationed in Japan. He played various roles in community theater productions such as The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun. He also played trombone in orchestra for other productions. In college, Mark played in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. He went on to perform in many church dramatic roles including improv.
Together
Mark and Patrice have directed various local productions such as Christmas Time in Purcellville, Christmas with Grace, Home for Christmas, A Christmas Carol, Dayenu, The Living Last Supper and others. They enjoy working together as a husband and wife directing team, using their individual strengths to draw out the best in their cast members and work together like family.
